Some Savannah stays put you in the middle of the noise. Others put you in a quiet neighborhood and leave you to find parking downtown. Wharfside Whimsy does neither. It sits in Savannah's Eastern Wharf, tucked away from the late-night crowds, yet a short walk from the river, River Street, and the historic district.
Here is how to spend a riverfront weekend from our front door.
Friday Evening: Sunset on the River
Drop your bags and walk to the water. The Savannah River is a short stroll from the townhome. At golden hour, container ships glide past and under the Talmadge Bridge. It is one of the best free shows in the city, and most visitors never see it from this angle.

For dinner, stay close. Squirrel's Pizza is steps away. If you want a view with your drink, head to the rooftop bar at the Thompson Hotel. It offers one of the best views of Savannah.
Saturday Morning: Yoga, Coffee, and the Green
Eastern Wharf has a yoga studio within walking distance. If you would rather start slow, take your coffee to the large green space nearby. It is a favorite for kids who need to run and dogs who need to stretch their legs.
Saturday Afternoon: River Street and the Historic District
Leave the car parked. From Wharfside Whimsy, you can walk to River Street for shopping and dining on the cobblestones, then keep going into the historic squares. Forsyth Park, boutique shops, and ghost tours are all within easy reach.
If your feet need a break, Savannah's free DOT shuttle and pedicabs are popular ways to get around downtown. Bike and e-scooter rentals are also available nearby.
Saturday Night: Live Music at the Wharf
Eastern Wharf has its own concert venue, with live bands and rotating food trucks. Check what is on during your stay. When the night winds down, you are a few minutes from home, and far enough from the action to actually sleep.
Sunday: Slow Morning, One Last Walk
Make breakfast in the fully stocked kitchen, or take it outside to the balcony. It has outdoor couch seating, a table, and a large shade umbrella. Then take one last walk to the water before you head out.

Why Wharfside Whimsy Works for Groups
The townhome is 1,894 square feet across three floors, with three bedrooms and three and a half baths. Every bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom and Smart TV. Nobody shares a bathroom, and everyone gets a door that closes.
- Top floor: King primary suite with a King Koil mattress, plus a Queen suite.
- Main floor: Open living and dining area and the full kitchen, with access to the balcony.
- Bottom floor: A private Queen suite with a Stearns & Foster mattress, the foyer, and garage access.
That layout suits couples traveling together, families who need space, and groups of friends who want both privacy and a place to gather. Families with little ones will find hardware on the stairways for baby gates, and you are welcome to use ours.
Other comforts include high-speed WiFi, a washer and dryer, central air, and free parking at the townhome for up to two cars.
A Stay with Personality
Wharfside Whimsy is not a beige rental. It is styled with bold color, curated décor, and nods to our Uncle Olan's art and photography. We are Savannah locals, and this home is our way of sharing the city we love.
